Located in a large Goleta strip mall on Turnpike near Von's, Goleta Coffee Company is a very comfortable, retro cafe where you can enjoy a sandwich and coffee in its dark interior (whose walls are covered with license plates from across the US) or outside at a few sunny tables.
The exterior is unassuming, and one might think at first blush that the coffee shop will be stark inside, but it is very welcoming. The staff is friendly and the orders are produced quickly.
I had the cappuccino and was surprised by how large the serving was, compared to those of other coffee shops I've visited. It tasted great, too. -

Great place to get breakfast, coffee, and a little studying in. Their coffee tastes really good.. when I was in high school, I would ALWAYS go there before school started and order the large iced vanilla latte.
I actually find the food, especially the breakfast burritos to be pretty fresh; in the back corner you'll always find a middle aged man making the burritos while trying to start a conversation with you. Most of these reviews about the previous man working there are more than a year old. I'm pretty sure this man left and they hired this new guy I'm talking about now. I forgot his name but he's very nice and always tries to make the customers laugh.
I love the atmosphere this place brings, especially the back of the store where there's a little fire place and a few booths. This is definitely a place I'll return to when I come back from college:) -

Great but pricey. This is a comfortable spot with both indoor and outdoor seating. The scones and bagels are okay, and they have a broad range of coffee-based drinks, juices, etc. I really like the space for working - it's lively but not loud or crowded on weekends, and they have comfy seats and good WiFi. The employees all seem friendly as well. I think the prices reflect the fact that many people (like me) park themselves in the café for a while. For a pastry and a tall mocha I usually pay around $10 - worth it for me, but probably not a good deal if you're just grabbing coffee to go.

Goleta Coffee Company is a hangout for young people to go to connect to the internet, drink weak coffee and stare into their smartphones and laptops. I was impressed at the efforts the curators went to make the place look like one big college dorm room setting up road signs, license plates and other such things that young people collect at that age. I would call the atmosphere "Grunge". They even have racks of tee shirts with slogans on them to make you fit in should you arrive with the wrong attire to fit in.
Should you want a fresh cup of full bodied coffee, this is not the place. -

I would rate this zero stars if I could.
I actually did enjoy coming here to study, probably because I never interacted with the horrible mean man behind the counter before.
I usually try to see the best in everyone. I ordered a burrito (insanely priced btw) and was looking forward to it. It had been about 15 minutes since I ordered and I only walked over to briefly check on it- I did not mind that it had taken a while only wanted to make sure that I hadn't missed it or anything. I asked with a smile on my face if he had called it out yet and he berated me until there were tears on my face. He practically spat in my face asking what he could do for me and had a horrible sneering grin when he asked "what about the burrito???? ILL CALL YOU WHEN ITS OUT"
This is sticking with me even today. Don't come here.
